One of my biggest dreams, apart from learning how to ride a horse and climb Mount Blanc, was to learn fencing. I was really impressed with this discipline and used to watch it on TV very often. I preferred the sabre much more than the epee and the foil. I had already been training karate for a few years, but thought that fencing would be an interesting thing to try. I did not have enough money, and the equipment was really expensive. The classes were not cheap, either. I decided to sell some gold price per gram that I had inherited from my father. I had no other ideas what to do with them, so why not use the money to make one of my dreams come true? I started the classes in September. At first I was happy to learn new stances, blocks and combinations. But to be honest, the warm-up was not very good. I did not feel tired at all, I was not even sweating. Fencing classes were so much different from my regular karate training. You must understand that traditional eastern martial arts often involve a lot of discipline. You can feel that the first time you enter the dojo. But here, I did not feel anything like that. People were laughing, drinking and eating or even talking on the phone during the training. I actually decided to give it up after five months. I did not regret selling the bullion bars and spending the money in this way, though. At least now I know that karate is what I really love and want to focus on in the future.
